Treatment planning - analysis

Cephalometric radiographs are used to examine the craniofacial relationship.
Precise occlusal set-up of dental arches and cephalometric analysis are necessary to establish the extent of orthodontic and surgical intervention to complete the treatment.

Preliminary diagnostic wax-ups on the casts can provide accurate information about the occlusion, the needed size of alveolar bone and space relationship of the dental units within the arch. View wax-ups 1 and wax-ups 2

At this stage the overall treatment scheduled is outlined.
The possibility of promoting the final result by interceptive treatment should always be considered. The final treatment is often postponed until skeletal growth is completed.
