Case 2

Nineteen-year-old woman with 14 congenitally missing permanent teeth.
The patient underwent orthognathic surgery.
In relation to sagittal split-osteotomy in the right side, an implant was inserted in the lower molar region combined with lateralization of the inferior alveolar nerve.
The patient has been followed for six years

Note the effect on the labial-mental fold, the mandibular retrognathism and the lower anterior face height.

Primary teeth are preserved when they are well functioning and do not interfere with the planned treatment. Later on they can be replaced by single tooth implants.
