Inferior alveolar nerve transposition performed
simultaneously with sagittal split osteotomy

The sagittal split is prolonged to the region of mental foramen to facilitate atraumatic nerve lateralization. The proximal segment is adapted and contoured anteriorly at the lower border to release the tension of the mobilized alveolar nerve before the osteosyntesis is made.
